It is recommended that you bring your own chairs to the show. Hay bales will be available for seating - but they're not the most comfortable.
Room to park your vehicle in the main arena, where you can see the screen from your parking spot, is on a first-come-first-served basis. So come a little early if you want to watch the show from your car. Additional parking is available behind the screen.
In addition to traditional speakers for the night's entertainment, Pioneertown Comedy Chuckwagon will also transmit the whole show through a commercial grade FM Transmitter so you will be able to enjoy everything on your FM Radio without ever having to leave the safety of your vehicle.
The entire show will also be projected onto a massive movie screen to help ensure that everyone gets a good view.
If you enjoy the vintage advertising that you hear on Pioneertown Public radio, then you are sure to love what you'll see before the evening's entertainment takes the stage.
Before the show, as cars are parked and food is served, we will run vintage drive-in theater and television advertising as well as Pioneertown Trivia.
Spanky Baldwin is a godsend to the Pioneertown Drive-in Theater! From the very start, Spanky has been responsible for the audio for both the Pioneertown Comedy Chuckwagon and Movie Nights!
After playing music all across the great United States of America, Spanky has chosen none other than Pioneertown as his home.
If you've visited Pioneertown's Mane Street in the past few years, then you've likely seen Spanky.. and if you have listened to good live music in Pioneertown in the past few years, then you've likely heard him too!
The Pioneertown Comedy Chuckwagon is extremely pleased that Spanky Baldwin has taken on the role of booking bands for each show!
What would a drive-in theater be without Popcorn and Hot Dogs!?!
Thankfully we've got WCGP on the job! Gourmet Organic Popcorn and Piping Hot Chicago Style Hot Dogs are served every movie night and at just about any other event that we can get them to come to! =D
John and Gay Smith purchased the Desert Willow Ranch from Russel Hayden back in 1969. What you now see on the five acre lot has been lovingly laid out and developed over the years by the Smith family.
The Desert Willow Ranch offers many unique amenities all in one conveniently located spot and can be rented year round as a prime Pioneertown vacation getaway or event venue.
What all does a ticket include and how many people can come in a car?
A Ticket will grant one person access to the event. Each guest will get a raffle ticket when they arrive.
Can I bring my dog?
Of course! We ask that you please keep your dog on a leash while outside of your vehicle. But bring as many dogs as you'd like.
Are children allowed to come?
Children are welcome to come - though this event is aimed more for adults. ;)
What is the raffle?
Each guest will be given a raffle ticket upon entry. Prizes will be raffled off to lucky guests before the end of the night.
What if I am late?
Please don’t show up too late! Once the raffle starts, the gates are closed.
Can I bring a camper or RV to the show?
No. RVs and campers are not currently allowed as we simply do not have the space for them.
How do I get sound to hear the comedy show?
The sound is broadcast through an FM transmitter that you can receive through any FM radio, including the one in many car stereos. But our speakers are loud enough to enjoy from your car.
Will there be another Pioneertown Comedy Chuckwagon?
There is a Comedy Chuckwagon hosted on the first Tuesday of every month.
Why is this being held on a Tuesday night?
Because there isn't anything else to do in Pioneertown on a Tuesday. ;)
