Audio / Visual

Last time we had a few issues.. but we've found a few solutions.

In addition to traditional speakers for the night's entertainment, Pioneertown Comedy Chuckwagon will also transmit the whole show through a commercial grade FM Transmitter so you will be able to enjoy everything on your FM Radio without ever having to leave the safety of your vehicle.

Last time the FM Transmitter was too close to the show and picked up too much interference. This time it'll be setup just close enough to broadcast without picking up any interference.

The entire show will also be projected onto a 15o" Movie Screen to help ensure that everyone gets a good view.

Last time it was too windy to inflate the screen. This time we've built a wooden frame for the screen and anchored it into the ground.

FAQs:

How many people will be there and will it be safe?

We are working under half of the maximum occupancy permitted for this space under the current State and County Safety Guidelines in order to provide a safe environment for our guests.

There are 3o assigned spaces, each spaced over eight feet apart. Tickets will be sold until we run out of spaces or the total projected attendance exceeds 9o People, including all event staff.

What all does a ticket include and how many people can come in a car?
A Parking Ticket will grant one car access to the event. The number of passengers allowed per vehicle must not exceed the number of safety belts/seats in said vehicle. Each guest will get a raffle ticket when their vehicle is parked.

Are children allowed to come?

Children are welcome to come - though this event is aimed more for adults.  ;)

What is the raffle?
Each guest will be given a raffle ticket upon entry. Prizes will be raffled off to lucky guests before the end of the night.

When do the doors open?
Vehicles may enter starting at 5:45PM. The music starts at 6PM and the comedy hour starts at 8PM.

What if I am late?
Please don’t show up late! Vehicles will be directed to their parking spots from 6:oo-6:45PM. The gates will be closed after 6:45PM and no later entry will be permitted.

Can I bring a camper or RV to the show?
No. RVs and campers are not currently allowed as we simply do not have the space for them.

How do I get sound to hear the comedy show? Should I bring my own battery-operated radio or use the radio in my car?
The sound is broadcast through an FM transmitter that you can receive through any FM radio, including the one in many car stereos. If you are concerned that your car battery will run down, or if your car does not have an FM radio, then please bring a portable battery-powered FM radio.

Can I use a radio app on my phone to listen?
A small portable FM radio works best. We cannot guarantee that an Apple or Android app will work as they tend to pick up internet radio rather than local stations.

Will there be another Pioneertown Comedy Chuckwagon?

The goal is to host one on the first Tuesday of every month with more and more fun planned when it is safer (and warmer) for everyone.

Why is this being held on a Tuesday night?

Because there isn't anything else to do in Pioneertown on a Tuesday.  ;)

RULES & GUIDELINES:

  • For your safety and ours, please limit your group to members from no more than two households.
  • Dress warm! All vehicle engines must be turned off upon arrival and must remain off until the end of the show at 8PM. Car heaters don't work when your engine is turned off.
  • Please don’t blind our performers. All vehicle headlights must be turned off upon arrival and must remain off until the end of the show at 8PM.
  • Please wear a mask and practice social distancing at all times when you are outside of your vehicle.
  • Please view the entire show from within your vehicle or the bed of your truck.
  • The audio for this show is broadcast through a professional-grade FM transmitter. Please make sure that you have a good sound system in your vehicle. If you do not have a radio in your car then you can bring a battery-operated stereo with speakers to hear the show.
  • A ticket along with information on the show will be emailed to you upon purchase. Please have a printed copy of your ticket ready when you arrive at the show. Alternatively, you can save the ticket on your phone.
  • Your ticket is only valid for the day & time stated on the ticket and no refunds will be granted after Tuesday, November 25th.
  • Tickets are non-transferable to another show. The only exception being if we are forced to cancel due to extreme weather conditions, in which case your ticket will be transferable to any future show of your choice.
  • Each ticket is valid for only one car. The number of passengers per vehicle must not exceed the number of safety belts/seats in your vehicle.
  • All tickets are treated equally and we want the best for every one of our guests. All tickets will be assigned a spot upon entry. This is not a first-come, first-parked event. A parking attendant will direct each driver to a parking space starting at 5:45PM. The goal is to have the smaller vehicles in the front spots and the larger vehicles in the back and off to the sides so that everyone has the best view possible. If you drive an extra large vehicle, please expect to be directed to park on the sides or in the back.
  • Early arrival is suggested. 5:45PM is ideal.
  • A restroom will be available onsite. Please wear a mask and follow physical distancing guidelines when using the restroom.
  • In the event it is necessary to leave your vehicle, social distancing will be strictly enforced. Failure to follow safe social distancing or requests from staff members will cause the person to be asked to leave.
  • All vehicles must remain in place until the end of the show at 8PM. No early departure will be permitted as vehicles will exit past the stage after the show.
  • The event staff will be wearing personal protective equipment as required by CDC guidelines for both their safety and yours.
  • No smoking, alcohol, marijuana or drugs are allowed within the Desert Willow Ranch.
  • No firearms or weapons of any kind are allowed within the Desert Willow Ranch.
